What CBD means

Cannabidiol is a cannabinoid that does not produce the characteristic intoxication associated with THC. A purified prescription form has regulatory approval for specific seizure disorders.

Cannabis findings depend on the product, dose, route of administration, population, and outcome measured. A result about one cannabinoid or formulation should not be generalized to every cannabis product.

How strong is the evidence?

We weigh systematic reviews and well-controlled human studies above observational reports, case series, animal studies, and laboratory experiments. Each can answer useful questions, but they do not support the same degree of certainty.

An approved CBD medicine is not evidence that every retail CBD product treats disease. Product composition, exposure, drug interactions, and trial populations matter.
